The City of Palm Desert is making innovative changes to how residents choose their City Council.
While the City has agreed to some general parameters to achieve CVRA compliance through the settlement, the community can still help the City Council define the districts’ final boundaries. The City is embarking on a public outreach effort to both explain how the City Council will be elected in November 2020 and define the districts for that election. Following this outreach and feedback phase, the City anticipates adopting the district maps through a Council vote in April 2020.
