Palm Desert’s Code Compliance Division ensures that all of the City's neighborhoods are consistent with community standards and in compliance with the Palm Desert Municipal Code. The Code Compliance Division also oversees the City's Business License Department.

City staff conducts both proactive and reactive inspections of residential and commercial areas, working cooperatively with property owners and residents to meet community standards and create a quality living environment for our residents.

Blight and nuisances can devalue, detract, and degrade the quality of any neighborhood. Recognizing the importance of protecting Palm Desert's wonderful quality of life, the City Council has adopted ordinances that regulate the use and maintenance of private property.

The Code Compliance Division is responsible for enforcing these regulations on private residential and commercial property throughout the city.
