Discover Desert Garden Community Day

Post Date:09/01/2010
Seasoned green thumbs and novice gardeners alike can learn about drought tolerant plants, water-wise gardening, proper pruning techniques, and many other topics at the fifth annual Desert Garden Community Day on Saturday, October 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henderson Community Building.

Presented by the Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley, this free event features workshops, exhibits, booths, and planting demonstrations presented by a variety of experts and organizations. New this year, the festivities will be based at the Henderson Community Building, 72-559 Highway 111. As always, Desert Garden Community Day will include guided tours of the beautiful Eric Johnson Memorial Gardens, which surround the Henderson Building.

Desert Garden Community Day is part of the Desert Horticultural Society’s ongoing efforts to educate and inform Coachella Valley residents about water conservation and landscapes that support local wildlife. For more information, please call 760-568-1441.
