“Make Someone A Star” Winners Honored

This year’s “Make Someone A Star” winners were honored last month at a Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

Ten honorees were selected from among scores of nominees for providing service that far surpassed the basic needs of their customers. The winners and all of the “Make Someone A Star” nominees exhibited the kind of exemplary service that inspired grateful customers to fill out a card urging that they be recognized.

Examples of this outstanding customer service include a grocery store worker who delivered food to a disabled resident and also took time to bring in the mail and put the groceries away.

Another honoree, who works at a restaurant, always makes sure to greet a regular customer and ensure that he gets his favorite dessert, even though it no longer appears on the menu.

The City-wide “Make Someone A Star” program, which celebrated its 11th year in 2010, is presented by the City of Palm Desert and co-sponsored by the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.
