Lawnmower Exchange Saves Money and Air Quality

Post Date:03/31/2010
Save hundreds of dollars on a new, state of the art, electric lawnmower simply by turning in an old, working gasoline powered model. This great deal can help you avoid high prices at the gas pump while protecting the environment and the air that all of us breathe.

More than 9,000 zero-emission electric mowers will be available for this year’s exchange program organized by the South Coast Air Quality Management District. These machines, which normally sell for between $350 and $500, are available at prices between $100 and $165.

Palm Desert residents who act quickly can take advantage of this program by registering beginning at 8 a.m. on April 21. Registration is available online at www.aqmd.gov or by calling SCAQMD at 888-425-6247. This program sold out in 48 hours last year and demand is high, so please register early.

Successful registrants will sign up for a time slot on May 1 to trade in their working gas powered lawnmower at the Cal State San Bernardino Campus in Palm Desert, 37-500 Cook Street. For more information including details on available models, please call 888-425-6247.
