Palm Desert Citizens On Patrol Members Honored
Presidential Volunteer Service Award Winners Total 16
Members of the City of Palm Desert’s Citizens on Patrol (COPS) program have been honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
The Palm Desert COPS members who earned the 2016 Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award are: Lynn Bell, Steve Miller, Hal Kahan, Sgt. Gerard Romanet, Capt. Saul Rosientul, Sgt. David Macfarlane, Lt. Jeff Alley, Lt. Mary Lasorsa and Sgt. Dan Oliver.
The Silver Award was presented to: Michael Andelson, Dennis Mulkey, Gary Weinberger, Renee Standhardt, Earle Wolfe, Jaime Acevedo and Sgt. Stan Thomas.
Recognized as the nation’s premier volunteer awards program, the President’s Volunteer Service Awards encourage citizens to live a life of service. The Gold level award is the program’s highest annual honor and recognizes United States adult citizens who have achieved 500 or more hours of service over a 12-month time period.
The Silver level award recognizes adult citizens with 250 or more hours or service. Along with the honor of presidential recognition, including a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.
